Listeners to the radio in 1979 will certainly recall the celebrated international song 'Pop Muzik', which went gold on both sides of the Atlantic. This pop classic was the work of Robin Scott; alias 'M'.

In the late Sixties Scott studied at Croydon Art College, with Jamie Reid and Malcolm MacLaren. MacLaren introduced him to Vivienne Westwood, with whom he later co-wrote 'The Bride of fortune' which will feature in Scott's forthcoming catalogue release 'Life Class'.

Scott has always been interested in cutting edge technology playing a significant part in the creative process. Working quickly and efficiently in the digital domain has given new scope to both musicians and visual artists alike. This has provided Scott with the means to fuse the disciplines of music and fine art in the IT-landscape.

In this current online collection he explores the emotional landscape of the classic female model from a contemporary perspective.

A limited edition of prints featured in the virtual gallery, as well as Robin's new album 'Life Class', are now available in the online shop.

Robin's comments on the new Life Class album:

This first release on the Yup! label has been compiled from five albums and a collection of previously unreleased titles and demo recordings. My first album "Woman From The Warm Grass" produced by Sandy Roberton at Sound Technique Studios in Fulham was released on the ill-fated Head Records in 1969 as Robin Scott.

Three further albums, 'New York-London-Paris-Munich', 'Official Secrets', and 'Famous Last Words' also sampled here, include many cherished collaborations with numerous gifted musicians and creative technicians I produced a.k.a. 'M'.

The fifth album features 'Shikisha' a female trio from South Africa and a goldmine of Anglo/African talent which the music reflects.

The remaining area unreleased tracks rescued from the loft, sometimes in mono, but they capture the spirit of the journey to be included here.

Enjoy,

Robin Scott, 2003
